 It uses platinized titanium and stainless steel electrodes to create a uniform electrical field, and the maximum blot size is 9 cm x 9 cm. 
This listing also includes EI9052 sponge pads, which are the replacement blotting sponge pads for this system. Thermo Fisher notes that EI9052 sponge pads are sold as an 8-pad replacement pack.
